Q: okay i had a timely-time movie that i converted to a mpg and then burnt it to a dvd-r with a program called finalburner and the dd did not work does any one identify of a free program that will burn it so i can play it in a dvd player or do I have to convert it into another format?

You beggary a DVD authoring program. It adds internal files like a map to tell the DVD player what and when to play things. Nerovision Press is good also Roxio. You have vista right? If the video you are trying isn'turn isnt writing protected it should burn it for you. Its called Windows DVD maker

This S-Video twine at this link is the cheapest and longest I found but, it says that it connects your DVD player and VCR to your T.V. Will it connect my laptop to my T.V too?
